UGC NORMS

The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)of our campus is a mandated body responsible for addressing complaints of sexual harassment and discrimination. Comprising faculty, staff, and sometimes students, it receives, investigates, and resolves complaints impartially. Operating within a legal framework, it ensures confidentiality, offers support to victims, and educates the campus community on prevention. Through training and accessible reporting mechanisms, the ICC fosters a safe and inclusive environment where all members feel respected and supported. OUR MISSION: Our Mission is to ensure a safe and inclusive environment by addressing complaints of sexual harassment and discrimination promptly, impartially, and with sensitivity. Through education, awareness, and fair resolution processes, the ICC strives to prevent harassment, protect the rights of all individuals, and promote a culture of respect and dignity within the campus community.

OBJECTIVES:
Prompt Response: To promptly address complaints of sexual harassment and discrimination brought forward by students, faculty, staff, or any members of the campus community.
Fair and Impartial Investigations: Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into reported incidents, ensuring confidentiality, sensitivity, and adherence to due process.
Resolution and Redressal: Recommend appropriate actions or sanctions in cases where complaints are found to be valid, ensuring justice for the victim and fair treatment for all parties involved.
Prevention and Awareness: Educate the campus community about sexual harassment and discrimination, promote awareness of rights and reporting mechanisms, and conduct prevention programs to create a safe and respectful environment.
Support for Victims: Provide support and assistance to victims of harassment, including access to counselling, legal aid, and other resources as needed.

Compliance and Training: Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing the prevention and redressal of sexual harassment, and provide training to ICC members and the broader campus community on their rights, responsibilities, and the importance of creating a harassment-free environment.
 Transparency and Accountability: Maintain transparency in the functioning of the ICC, keep accurate records of complaints and actions taken, and uphold accountability in addressing complaints effectively and fairly.

Reporting an Incident: If you have experienced or witnessed an incident of harassment or discrimination, we encourage you to report it to the ICC. Your confidentiality will be respected, and we will take prompt action to address the matter.
