Launched in 2013, the Department of Computer Applications at KMEA College of Arts and Science has been creating promising and prospective Professionals in the Technocrat Community, through Education.

SCOPE

The IT industry is booming and growing with widespread options of Specializations. Quality Professionals are in high demand everywhere and in every sector as the growth pace of this industry is consistently high. BCA has been enduring systematic refinement of the curriculum to educate students in various aspects of Information Technology.

With progressive developments in the Industry, BCA graduates enjoy a multitude of career prospects ranging from Developers, Administrators, and Testers.

OBJECTIVES

• Bachelors of Computer Applications is a 3 year course, strategically segmented over 6 Semesters, incorporating the latest developments in the industry in the Curriculum.
• The underlying Mission and Vision of the course is to lay Strong-Hold Foundation, for aspirants seeking to marvel in the IT

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• Academic eligibility as prescribed by Mahatma Gandhi University should be satisfied as on the last date of submission of academic data
• In the case of candidates who have passed examinations of other Boards other than STATE/CBSE/ICSE, they shall be admitted only if these examinations have been declared equivalent to the qualifying examinations of MG.

ACADEMIC CURRICULUM

Evaluation of each course follows a credit based system containing two parts

INTERNAL ASSESSMENT

The Internal Assessment is evaluated through continuous assessments by the department based on Assignments, Seminars and Test Papers.

EXTERNAL ASSESSMENT

External Examination is conducted at the end of every Semester evaluating the students’ performance in each subject. Questions are set to assess knowledge acquired, critical evaluation of knowledge and the ability to synthesize knowledge.

INFRASTRUCTURE

• The Department of Computer Applications in KMEA College of Arts and Science, is well supported by a Faculty of resourceful and dedicated staff with extensive experience in the Industry, guiding and mentoring the Students.
• Department is well equipped with a Lab featuring a network of optimally configured Computers with state of the art Technologies, providing Hands on Training to our Students.
• Our Library is a repository of Books by various authors covering a wide range of topics on various fields of Computer Science.
