(STUDENTS CODE OF CONDUCT)
Students shall not engage themselves in actions thatare offensive to good and are disservice to succeedinggenerations of students of the college.
Students must observe strict discipline in the campus;behave with dignity and courtesy to the Principal,faculty members, administrative staff, visitors andfellow students.
Political activities and the functioning of studentorganisations are strictly banned in the Campus.Unofficial meetings, strikes, demonstrations,agitations, and fund collection are strictly prohibited.Students who violate the above rules are liable to bedismissed from the college summarily.
No student shall bring in to the college campus orhostels any banner, flag, board, notice, pamphlet orother such materials for purpose of any politicalactivity of student organizations or otherorganisations.
The College Management and Principal shall takeappropriate measures to insulate the college campusfrom political activism and external intervention, tosafeguard the interests of students, academiccommunity, parents and the general public. Studentsand staff shall co-operate with all such measuresincluding the mode of College Union election asdecided by the College Management and Courts fromtime to time.
Election to the College Union, if required, will beconducted under Parliamentary Mode, as perLyngdoh Committee recommendations, under theverdict of the Hon.ble High Court of Kerala in WPC © No.19411 of 2012, de hors the directions issued bythe University.
No meeting or entertainment shall be organized norany fund collected in the college or the hostels withoutthe permission of the Principal.
Students must wear uniform on the prescribedoccasions and working days. Students should alwayskeep dignity and decency in dressing.
Students should not go outside the college duringclass hours. In the event of unavoidable necessity theyshould seek special permission of the Principal / Headof the Department.
Staff members/Discipline Committee shall have thepowers to deny admission to students to classes/office/labs/library/meetings/cultural programs and otherprograms in the case of violation of the dress code ofthe college.
Students shall always wear identity cards issued bythe college with tag and show them as and whendemanded by the Principal, teachers and office staff/security staff.
No student shall use or keep in possession alcoholicdrinks or drugs. Using/keeping of these items will leadto immediate expulsion of the student from thecollege and hostels.
Students shall not enter classrooms other than theirown.
Mobile phones, cinematic dance and fashion showshall not be allowed inside the College campus.Violating these rules will meet with disciplinaryaction, including imposition of fine of Rs.500/-
Students guilty of going over to other colleges orinstitutions to take part in acts of indiscipline such asorganizing demonstrations or strikes will be deemedespecially culpable and be punished accordingly.
The Principal shall have the power to inflict thefollowing punishment: fine, loss of attendance, loss ofterm certificate, suspension, compulsory issue of T.C.and expulsion.
Conduct certificate will not be issued as matter ofcourse. It has to be earned by students’ good conduct.Promotion to a higher class, selection for Universityexaminations and issue of progress, attendance andconduct certificates are matters absolutely within thestatutory and discretionary powers of the Principal
and no appeal shall lay against the Principal’s decision to any other authority.
The principal shall have the right to issue Transfer Certificate to a student admitted to the college withoutan application from the students or the guardian atany time during the course of his/her study in thecollege without assigning any specific reason.
The principal or other duly constituted college orhostel authorities may frame and issue from time totime disciplinary rules of permanent or temporarycharacter, regulating the conduct of students withinand outside the college and the Hostel Premises witha view to maintaining the credit and reputation of thecollege and the hostels.
Students shall desist from disfiguring the class rooms,compound walls and buildings on the college campusby pasting posters or writing on them. They shall alsodesist from disfiguring the compound walls ofneighboring building.
Legal action will be initiated against those whodestruct or cause to destruct the properties of thecollege under existing laws including the Preventionof Damage to Public Property Act 1984.
Banners, flags, posters, etc. shall not be allowed insidethe campus or at the gates or compound walls forpurpose of any activity without the permission of thePrincipal.
Students who are charged in criminal offence and areunder suspension shall not be allowed to enter thecampus without permission.
Students from other institutions and outsiders shouldtake prior permission with valid identity proof to meetthe Principal and staff members. Students from otherinstitutions and outsiders shall not meet or interactwith the students of the college inside the campuswithout the prior written consent of the Principal.
Students from other institutions and outsidersdisrupting any academic activity or functioning of thecollege office or any unit thereof, shall be treated asinfringing in the rights of college authorities to runthe institution in a good manner for the publicinterest. All such deeds will be treated as infringementof the rights of students. Legal actions includingcontempt of court will be initiated in all such cases.
Banners, posters, holdings, cutouts, flex boards, flagposts or any other things of temporary or permanentnature shall not be erected, installed, or placed within200 meters of the college gate without the permissionof the college authorities.
There shall not be any discrimination against anycommunity or category of students of the college andimmediate stringent action will be taken against theerring students/officials/ faculty members.
Outsiders including police and media shall not enterthe campus without the permission of Principal.
Photography/ video /audio recording and playing inthe campus is strictly prohibited. Programs in thecollege shall be covered only by the persons officiallyauthorized by the Principal.
Students have to park their vehicles at the allottedplace at their own risk. Stunting and racing of vehicleswithin and in a radius of 200 meters outside thecampus are strictly banned.
The Security Personnel /designated college staff areauthorised to inspect the records of the vehiclesentering the campus and register the details in thegate register.
The College Council and Parent Teacher Associationcan advise Principal on internal matters of the college.
Students and staff members can make use of thegrievance redressal mechanism available in thecollege.
When a student meets a member of the teaching staffof the college within the campus or outside, it is amatter of politeness that he/she should greet him/her.
When a teacher enters the class, the students mustkeep standing until the teacher has invited them tosit down or he/she himself/herself has occupied his/her seat.
Students should keep with them the texts and notebooks required for classes they attend.
No student shall leave the classroom during a lecturewithout the permission of the teacher.
Students who happen to have no class should notloiter in the corridors or campus during class hours.They must either go to the Library and read or retireto their hostels.</span
Habitual negligence in college work, dishonesty, obscenity in word or act or any other acts ofmisconduct will involve severe disciplinary action.
Students are forbidden from writing, marking ordrawing on class room furniture, walls, floor, Roof etc,using ink, paint or any other materials. Mass fine willbe imposed from students of the particular class,violating this rule.
Students are expected to keep decency and decorumin their behaviour.
Ragging is prohibited by law. Students shall notindulge in any such activities. It is strictly banned inthe campus by law in force.
The college authorities reserve the rights to amend,repeal or modify any of the above rules.
